Fetal anomaly screening

Fetal anomaly screening
It is a type of ultrasound that enables the hands, feet and face of the baby in the womb to be shown in four dimensions. The purpose of this type of ultrasound is to detect many abnormalities that may be in the baby or to show that the baby is healthy.

When is Detailed (Detailed) Ultrasound Performed?

Detailed ultrasound is a type of ultrasound that can be performed by the doctor following the pregnancy between the 19th and 23rd weeks of pregnancy. If any abnormality is detected or suspected as a result of the examination, a second-level detailed ultrasound may be requested after 1-2 weeks by the doctor.

What is Second Level Detailed (Detailed) Ultrasound?

If any abnormality or suspicion is observed in the first level detailed ultrasound, the detailed ultrasound performed by the doctor at the 21st or 22nd weeks is called the second level detailed ultrasound. The general structure of the uterus, the placenta and the baby are examined in detail in the second level detailed ultrasound performed in the weeks when the baby's organs have grown sufficiently and any abnormality can be detected.

In the second level detailed ultrasonography, many measurements are made to determine the growth of the baby. The central nervous system, heart and blood circulation, chest cavity, digestive system, stomach and intestines, kidney and urinary tract and skeletal system in the baby in the mother's womb are examined in detail and it is determined whether there is any abnormality.
